Between a long talk on the phone and a thought-provoking email conversation with Master Frankovich, I did not get a lot of uninterrupted sleep yesterday.

But up at 5:30, work by 6:00 and my Saturday has begun.

The daily grinds of life continue on: the need to train, to eat, the 24-hour news cycle, work with its rewards and frustrations, and now tax season with its bureaucratic demands.  When stress seems to be recycled every day, it can be easy to forget God’s presence for you each day.  “What have you done for me lately?” our selfish nature asks God.

Today I wanted to remind you of one thing that God has done for you to show his love:  It happened right before you began your day.  Here is the God Thought from Psalm 127:1-2

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stay awake in vain.
It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives his beloved sleep.

Have you slept recently?

There is today’s proof of God’s love for you.

But everyone sleeps!  If you don’t sleep you die!

Yes, and God loves every person.  He creates and sustains our lives, and then calls us to him for comfort or for judgment at the end of our allotted days.

Until then, remember God loves you, and have sweet dreams.
